Glen Merrill Jr. — Pulls His Weight For Fallen Men and Women on Duty!

Glen Merrill Jr., one of our local drivers, is shown pulling the B-D-R TRANSPORT truck he drives. This is the third truck pull he’s accomplished, and it is actually in preparation for a larger truck pull coming up in November 2021. (Details are still being worked out, so at this time he cannot release the agency that he’ll be working with, but it will be for fallen men and women on duty.)

That’s awesome that one of our Drivers can be such an inspiration, and what a worthwhile cause. We’re ‘pulling’ for ya’ Glen!

Glen started lifting 3 1/2 months ago out of necessity, his weight had gotten up to almost 300 pounds and he made the conscientious decision that he wanted to be a lot healthier.

He is officially sponsored by Steel Fit USA and Nike, along with a very small sponsorship from Under Armour.

To date, his record weight pulled is 107,000 pounds. Glenn is hoping to shatter that record next year by pulling an oversize load at 150,000+ pounds!

In the gym, his benchpress started out at about 100 pounds and now he is benching over 550 pounds. He is squatting 725 pounds and deadlifting over 600.

“I’m going to continue doing this to bring awareness to charities and those that need help that can’t help themselves.”

The personnel that he had with him in this video were his safety officer, which is the person that you see in the video directly to his left, Mark Laflam. He’s there should Glen go down, or anything happens catastrophically, and also to make sure that the rope is constantly out of Glenn's way so as not to get tangled up.

Mark also watches ahead and communicates with the driver so that everybody’s on the same page because when Glen is pulling, he can barely be seen in front of the truck by the driver.

Photographer is Gina Laflam and the driver for this particular pole was Chris from Drew's Organics in Chester Vermont, one of B-D-R TRANSPORT’s customers.

This is quite an accomplishment. Congratulations Glen, proud of you, keep up the good work! Finally pulling his weight around B-D-R TRANSPORT (lol)!
